Question:

I noticed that my seven year old mongrel has started passing a little blood in his urine. But this happens only sometimes. Is he having some bladder problems or is it just heatiness? – Johanna Liew

Answer:

This condition is most likely due to an infection of the bladder and requires veterinary attention. Other causes of blood I the urine include bladder or kidney stone and prostatic problems in the older male dog. Defining the exact nature of the present problem will require the assistance of a veterinarian.
